Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away, and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. - John 15:2
Genuine commitment to a task is evident by accomplishment of great result. People that are committed to a task do not allow anything to impair their drive to accomplish their goals. They pull out all the stops in order to reap the harvest they desire. When your commitment yields great results, your profile will be upgraded from being faithful to being fruitful. Commitment evident by great results makes you earn a golden reputation as a real go getter. Hence, commitment not accompanied with great accomplishment is akin to a labour loss. This will not be your portion in Jesus name.
It is not impossible to be committed to a task and get an end result that turns out bad. It could be that the cards are absolutely stacked against the one who shows commitment or that the fellow is committed to a wrong cause. When someone plods away at doing something that is outside the specified job requirement, though he puts in so much on the task, the end result of his efforts will attract no commendation. When a farmer toils hard and tills the ground to plant the right seed on the wrong soil, at harvest time, his expectation will be dashed.
Hence, for your faithfulness to translate into fruitfulness, you must be able to articulate what is cut out for you to do. Once you can rightly lay your finger on what you should get done, you need to give it your best shot. It goes without saying that when great effort is channeled towards the right cause, the harvest thereof is usually amazing. May you not expend your time and efforts in vain. May your efforts yield great result in Jesus name.
