Present your case," says the LORD. "Set forth your arguments," says Jacob's King. - Isaiah 41:21
The Lord God does not inhibit His children from approaching His throne of grace with their grievances and with the burden weighing on their minds, especially when their backs are against the wall. When it seems as if it was over, they believe they can count on God to step in and make a way. So they find solace by standing before Him, only because they are assured that He will surely make a way. It is note worthy that you can only move God into action on account of the SUPERIORITY OF HIS MERCY and not by the volume and quality of your vocal expressions. God had said that, He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy and have compassion on whom He will have compassion. So, if the Lord God must spring to your defense and go to work on your case, you must speak of His mercy; tell Him how merciful He is. Hence, you need to back off from making an exhibition of your vocal expression with the intent to impress Him.
An x-ray of the scripture revealed that heros of faith move God into action on account of the SUPERIORITY OF HIS INTEGRITY and not by self-assertion or self-confidence. Being assured that God will not allow His integrity to lie on the ropes, they pin their trust and hopes on His faithfulness. When Jeremiah took an inventory of his experiences, he acknowledged the greatness of God's faithfulness (Lam. 3:22). In spite of being perturbed by the scourge of wickedness that attended his ministry, Jeremiah didn't lose sight of God's faithfulness. As such, the Lord God stood by him and strengthened him.
Finally, Christians who argue their case on the SUPERIORITY OF GOD'S LOVE understand that the love of God outweighs the value of their works. No one can emotionally blackmail the Lord God and prod Him for a divine assistance on account of the quality of his or her good deeds or works, without acknowledging the superiority of God's love. Even the psalmist acknowledged that God's love is better than life (Psalm 63:3). When you tell God how loving He is, even in the midst of your storm, you can be assured that He would arise for your sake. However, if you choose to murmur and speak ill of His integrity, love and mercy, your case will most likely be thrown out of His court room. Hence, to curry favour with God, you need to make an exhibition of His mercy, love and faithfulness, as proofs of why He should spring to your defense and meet you at the point of your needs. As you tender your case before the Lord, may He prioritize your request as you acknowledge the superiority of His mercy, love and faithfulness in Jesus name.
