"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh." - Galatians 5:16
One of the crucial benefits of being a carrier of God's presence is that it provides the special privilege of walking in the spirit, which sets the stage to live up to God's expectations. Those who walk in the Spirit stay clear of the pathway leading up to fulfilling the lust of the flesh. This reveals that one of the reason why some believers are falling and rising is connected to their unreadiness to fully take account of God's word and align themselves to the pathway of holiness. It goes without saying that a believer who turns a deaf ear to what the Spirit says would certainly stray away from God's ways and would be caught up in playing ball with the devil.
Subsequent to your new birth experience, walking in the Spirit means being RECEPTIVE TO THE LEADING OF GOD'S SPIRIT. Those who are receptive to what the Spirit says are precluded from getting in the harm's way and from becoming victims of the deceptive schemes of the devil. If you don't want the devil to seduce you from the pathway of godliness, you need to lend your ears to what God instructs you to do. Living contrary to God's word and directives would give the devil the upper hand to rub you of your godly heritage.
Having being receptive to God's leading, you need to RUN WITH HIS INSTRUCTION. Dragging your feet and down playing the urgency of God's leading may leave you twisting in regrets and wrath of God. Has the Lord God instructed you to carry out an assignment? Any attempt to boil the ocean, might inspire divine wrath against you. When Jonah failed to live up to God's instruction to evangelise Nineveh, while attempting to flee from God's presence, he was caught up in the belly of a big fish for three days. Until he hearkened to God's call, he never knew peace. Are you being lead astray by ungodly acquaintances and associations, to live in defiance of the leading of God's Spirit? Be wise not to run in the path of Eve, who allowed the devil to lead her down the garden path and shortchanged of God's promises. As you walk in the Spirit, while thrusting aside the affections and desires to gratify the flesh, may you have reasons to wallow in the joy and blessings of the Lord in Jesus name.
