“This was so that, by two unchangeable (immutable) things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us…” – Hebrew 6:18 God doesn’t break faith with His covenant people. He said, “I will not break My covenant neither will I alter the things that have gone out of My lips” (Ps. 89:34). This reveals that God doesn’t shuttle between faithfulness and infidelity neither does He occupy the midpoint between both attributes. So whatever God has promised to you is a post-dated cheque that is divinely backed and guaranteed of delivery without disappointment on His appointed delivery date. You can count on God because He doesn’t lose count of His manifold promises to the multitude of His covenanted people. When God made promise to Abraham, He guaranteed and confirmed it by an oath. Because there was no one greater by which He could swear, the Lord swore by His name. The name of the Lord on His promise to you is a divine seal indicating a divine promise that is irrevocable and non-negotiable. There is no gainsaying that God doesn’t give room for His name to Ibe trampled under feet. And as a result, you can never know disappointment in your covenant walk with God. Know that the covenant of God doesn’t constrain you from living a holy life but rather gives you no option to compromise your fidelity and corrupt your Kingdom identity through sinful living. Before God will strike an immutable covenant of blessing with you, He will first of all satisfy Himself that you are found as a fit, proper and profitable vessel that is ready to pursue righteousness as a cause and ready to fight the good fight of faith without compromise. Therefore, I pray that the immutable promises of God in your life birth a new hope of glory in your life and usher in new joy as God honours them speedily in Jesus name.
