But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, said to them, “You have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God; but we ourselves together will build to Yahweh, the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.” - Ezra 4:3
It will be impossible to actualize your goals if you align yourself with destructive counsels. Many are off the track because they yield themselves to counsels that impair their faculty of sight. For these category of people, they find out that the unexpected happens while they are left to stew in their own juice. However, if you follow wise counsel, you will end up reaping the harvest of good success.
For you to squash counsel that will get you nowhere, you need the gift of DISCERNMENT. Many people fall for the tricks and gimmicks of the devil because they are unable to discriminate between the good and the bad. So they play into the hands of destiny wasters. Zerubbabel would have been a victim of ungodly counsel when the adversaries of the Lord's people offered to assist in building the temple of the Lord. But by way of discernment, he shot down the proposal and thereby frustrated the scheme of his advesaries, whose mission was to upset the plan to build the house of the Lord.
Ungodly counsels are usually enticing. They come in mouthwatering packages but are actually destiny wasting. Esau couldn't resist the temptation to sell off his birthright because he wanted to gratify his fleshy desires. The fleshy counsel in his spirit man made him to despise his destiny. Hence, you need the act of DISCIPLINE to shoot down negative counsel against the accomplishment of your goal. Therefore, I pray that the counsel of destiny wasters be frustrated in your life while the Lord endow you with the grace to keep your appetite in check, so you don't become a victim of ungodly counsel in Jesus name.
