But Jesus told him, "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God." - Luke 9:62
Some years ago, I recalled that I was presented with an offer to sit in for someone in an examination conducted for senior secondary students by an examination body, WAEC precisely. Then, I just got through my secondary education and I had a golden reputation with my teachers, friends and my acquaintances in school. As a young Christian, I hadn't been involved in such an act before then and was clueless about how it would play out.
It actually came to me as a surprise that the offer was made to me by a personality I held in high esteem. And while I was reasoning the ethics and the downsides of getting involved in such act, the then Assembly Prefect of my school issued me with a Gospel tract. Surprisingly, the tract was tagged, "Others may, but I cannot". It was the right message I needed at such a time. Although several attempts were made to talk me into accepting the offer with its monetary compensation, however, I turned it down because it ran counter to my belief and faith.
While I would say I am on a journey to perfection, I prefer to remain committed to Him who has called and enlisted me as a solider in His army. Therefore, it goes without saying that a faithful believer is ever willing to STAND FOR JESUS without having to live a DOUBLE STANDARD LIFE. You are either for Christ or for the Anti-Christ. You cannot belong to both camps. Also, a faithful Christian is one who chooses to STAY FOCUSED ON JESUS having put his hands to the plow. They prefer to thrust aside every distraction which is intended to make them lose sight of their heavenly goal.
A Christian who leads a life of faithfulness prefers to STAY PUT with God when he is put to the test and when he suffers trials and afflictions. Do you want to chicken out on God because of afflictions? Remember the Bible says that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Finally, the faithful are those who STAY CLEAR of every form of contamination that could stain their robe of righteousness. Have you been washed in the blood of the Lamb and still living a double standard life? Doing so would get your robe stained and would make you to be delisted from the company of saints who would reign with God in eternity. If you are not on the Lord's side, pray now that He save your soul and give you the power to live a life of righteousness and faithfulness.
