Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted – Isaiah 53:4
Jesus demonstrated unparalleled love towards humanity by choosing to bear the wrath of God for the sins of the world. He is the Messiah who came to appease the wrath of God through the laying down of His life as the ultimate sacrifice for the redemption and reconciliation of the sons of men to God. Without Jesus, God would have wiped away the entire human race. But you are made alive today by grace, because Jesus chose to take the fall. Hence, you cannot afford to ignore His call for the salvation of your soul.
Certainly, the wrath of God against the sins of humanity is not bearable or endurable by any man on the face of the earth. No man can stand the wrath and displeasure of God, which He expresses towards sin. Even the Bible made it clear that while Jesus was nailed on the Cross, He experienced a total separation from His Father. The eyes of the Lord God could not behold Him because they were purer to look upon iniquity. So Jesus felt forsaken. But He did this for your sake, so that you may have life and not be forsaken in God’s plan.
When Jesus bore the wrath of God, He became the Author of Salvation to bring you into friendship with God. The door of enmity that was opened for the flow of God’s wrath towards man was shut. Hence, you cannot afford to be wedded to a life of sin after Jesus has made provision for your oneness with God, through the shedding of His blood. If your life is not in alignment with the ways of God, know that you will be invoking the wrath of God upon your life. Hence, lay aside the weight of sin in your life and follow Jesus all the way, so you could reap the blessings of righteousness, peace and joy which Christ alone can give. As you repent and reconcile your ways to God, may the wrath of God never find expression in your life in Jesus name
