“…Christ in you, the hope of glory” – Col 1:27
The glory of the Lord cannot be separated from the presence of God. The presence of Christ in your life is what guarantees the manifestation of God’s glory in your life. So whosoever carries God’s presence is also a carrier of the glory of God. Regardless of what you may be going through for the cause of Christ, they are incomparable to the glory ahead of you in His Kingdom and even here on earth.
Joseph stuck to his guns living an uncompromised life because he knew that glorious days are ahead of him. He didn’t allow the troubles that befell him in the prison and also in Potiphar’s house to weigh him down. He didn’t allow his challenges to deflate his commitment to God. When he was presented with offers of destructive pleasures, he put his foot down and unequivocally rebuffed the offers of his enticer. He didn’t have to rack his brain to consider and benchmark the gains of purity with the danger and consequence of promiscuity.
If a Christian allows the temporal pleasure of sin to overwhelm him, his hope of glory will be dashed. The joy of the devil overflows when God’s children trample the values and virtues of God’s Kingdom under their feet, sacrificing their taste for godly lifestyle with the ungodly preference for the works of the flesh. Ultimately, it is most rewarding to have Christ in you, because His presence assures you of unimaginable hope and manifestation of God’s glory in your life. May you never trade the presence of God for the destructive offers and presents of the devil in Jesus name.
