A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD closed the door behind them. - Genesis 7:16
Holding your decision to live for Christ in abeyance may turn out to be late in the day. If you think that, come tomorrow, you will become born again, living up to God's expectations, the devil may short-live that decision. He would go all out to make you see why you should adjourn that decision over and over, until it becomes late in the day when the gate of mercy is shut and repeated opportunities for repentance have been thrown overboard. It is disheartening to know that while some are sleeping on the invitation for repentance, they slept off never to see the next day.
Keeping God's invitation for the salvation of your soul on the back burner can give you a red face, causing you to recycle regrets and lamenting "Had I known" . If you are living a life of sin, God is still waiting for you, because He doesn't want you to waste away with the devil in eternal damnation. But how many of God's invitations have you thrown overboard, not knowing that you are despising life changing opportunities to become a royal citizen of heaven and a global blessing to nations?
Therefore, before the die is cast, when the books would have been closed on you, resolve to separate yourself from the world and its affections, so you could walk with God and live for Him alone. The Bible says, "How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation" (Hebrew 2:3), which Jesus bought for mankind through His blood. Today, I believe you need Jesus. He needs you too, because He is willing to make you a blessing to the world and wants you to reign with Him in eternity. Therefore, pray with me today, "Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Please show me mercy, wash away all my sins and write my name in the Book of Life. I receive the grace to live for you alone in Jesus name." Amen.
