"For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, - Philippians 3:20
Being a Christian is not just about being enlisted in the Book of Life, but essentially about living out the life of Christ. When you sign up to be counted as a citizen of heaven while living on earth, you can no longer live apart from God. Because you have a divine identity, you can no longer be a companion of iniquity but rather a friend and lover of righteousness. Citizens of heaven give up themselves into SEEKING GOD'S KINGDOM AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. This implies that they make no allowance for juggling righteousness with lustfulness. Hence, the primary pursuit of citizens of heaven is to keep God on the front burner of their lives while they delight His heart. Abraham, the father of faith, sought a better city whose maker and builder is God. What are you seeking?
Another attribute of citizens of heaven is that they are single minded. They are not enticed with the offers of iniquity. As such, they don't cave to every pressure to give up their zeal towards walking out their salvation. However, when a citizen of heaven begins to compromise his commitment to God's kingdom, he runs the risk of pushing his heavenly citizenship on the ropes. Bear in mind that those who drift away from God are being drafted into darkness because they chose to divest themselves of their garments of royalty and righteousness. Hence, the resolution of a committed citizen of heaven is to STAY FOCUSED ON GOD'S KINGDOM, having put his hand to the plough.
Finally, citizens of heaven operate under the influence of God's power to make them capable of working in the supernatural. Put in a different way, they SWIM IN THE FLOW OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. While others go with the flow of ungodliness and lustful affections, the righteous follow the orders and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Henry Allen Ironside, a Canadian-American Bible Teacher, wrote, " Christianity is not the natural life lived on a higher plane. It is a divine life manifested in the energy of the Holy Spirit." Any acclaimed citizen of heaven without the seal of the Holy Spirit is merely living below the supernatural. The Bible say that our citizenship is in heaven. Are you living as a citizen of God's kingdom while on earth?
