Ephesians 5:33
"Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

Couples who get along, go a long way and mute the chances of their marital split. Keeping each other on the radar, helps to STRENGTHEN THEIR FRIENDSHIP. When a couple gets emotionally involved with each other, they act in the best interest of their marriage and keep themselves unopened to bitterness, disharmony and strife, which erode the bliss and joy of marriage. Hence, keeping your spouse on the radar strengthens the bond of friendship and builds undiluted intimacy.

Someone once said, "As the closest human relationship, the relationship to one's spouse must be most carefully cherished if one wishes a close relationship with God." Put in a different way, when you keep your spouse on the radar, you increase the odds of STRENGTHENING your FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD. Because the devil understands the blessedness of marriage, he goes all the way to stir up confusion and tension in marriages. Caving in to the temptation of the devil would certainly stir up marital disunity which breeds loss of fellowship with God, the Originator of marriage. And loss of fellowship with God can put a couple's marriage at the mercy of the devil's destructive schemes. Hence, you need to have the right perspective of your spouse while keeping him or her on the radar.

Finally, keeping your spouse on the radar, also STRENGTHENS YOUR FOCUS and UNDERMINES THE FORCE OF DISTRACTION. Marital partners who keep their eye off the ball, keep themsleves wide open to ungodly influence and relationship. When a marital partner begins to lose sight of his or her marriage, chances exist that the other party is going right under the radar. Giving thought to someone else, who is an extramarital partner, as a sub for your spouse would certainly play havoc with your marriage. Hence, you need to be on your guard while you keep your spouse on the radar. Is your spouse already going under the radar? Why not appropriate God's grace which makes you capable of exhibiting unimpaired visibility and firm commitment to see your spouse as a choice partner in progress towards fulfilling God's purpose for your lives.
