Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’t you know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. 2 Cor. 13:5
As a disciple of Christ, it is unwise to downplay spiritual health check as you journey with God. The Bible says that the path of the righteous is like a shining light which shines more and more until the perfect day. So, while living for God, it is not out of place to diagnose the brightness of your light. It might happen that your light is growing dim, which would require you to double down in your pursuit of God. When you self check your spiritual healthiness viz-a-viz the word of God, you will certainly come up with a clear-eyed assessment of your divine status. It will be clear to you whether you are still living a PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE or a PLEASURE-DRIVEN LIFE. When the prodigal son in Luke chapter 15 examined himself, he knew he had lost his companionship with his father, which could only be restored by his father's compassion towards him.
Diagnosing yourself would help you to determine whether you need to POWER UP YOUR PRAYER LIFE. You need to understand that the devil will often attempt to talk you out of praying to God. And if he prevails on you, you will discover that you are losing steam in living up to God's expectations for your life. Inasmuch as you understand that your spiritual well-being is dependent on God, you cannot allow your fellowship with Him to take a nosedive. Hence, you need to keep an eye on your prayer altar, lest the devil turns it into a playground and dunghill of frivolities.
Also, just as the Bible says that you know yourself, diagnosing yourself would help you to REPOSITION YOURSELF IF YOU HAVE DERAILED FROM THE TRUE WAY. You need to examine whether your Christian values have been overtaken by affections and addictions that keep weakening your relationship with God. You cannot be lukewarm or cold and make bold to withstand the devil. If you allow lust and worldly affections to dictate your life and make you sidestep your divine identity as a royal priesthood, you would be doing yourself a tremendous disservice. If you allow ungodly entertainments and distractions on social media to undermine your commitment and proximity to God, you would certainly be losing steam towards keeping to the straight and narrow. And once you noticed that you are losing appetite for God, don't be hesitant to diagnose yourself. Wake up today and self check yourself before you are divinely examined with stern divine rebuke and chastisement. May your hunger and passion for God keep burning unto the perfect day, as you keep examining yourself in Jesus name.
