For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught - Prov 3:16 Confidence in God is a strong defence in the day of trouble. A man who is confident in the Lord makes mockery of fear and his foes. Why? He knows God never fails. He has absolute faith that God will not deny Himself. God doesn't joke with His word and promises. He is not a man that He should lie. The psalmist demonstrated huge confidence in that Lord when he said, "...for the Lord is my Keeper and He is my Shield,...the sun shall not smite me by day nor the moon by night..." No matter the diseases ravaging the sons of men, it shall not come near you as long as your confidence is built in the name of the Lord. Whosoever questions the confidence of the righteous gets squeezed in the hands of God. This was the case of the king of Assyria who rose up against Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah and the Jews. He queried the confidence Jehoshaphat had in the Lord because he remained fearless in spite of threat issued against him (II Kings 18:19). In the end, the king of Assyria got knocked down to death for insulting the supremacy of God's power to deliver. He got a death sentence for his plot to suppress and kill the people of Judah.
Whosoever questions your trust in the Lord shall be silenced in shame. May the Lord speak for you with His majestic voice and thunder upon your mockers, as you put your confidence in Him in Jesus name.
