1 Samuel 17:26
"David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done to the man who kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”"
Allowing your passion to go into sleep mode is a recipe for living an average life. If your goals and ambitions are not sitting on the coals of passions, chances exist that you may settle for less than you can achieve. Many goals and dreams are dying a natural death because they are not backstopped by passion. If you notice that you are running out of steam in the pursuit of your goal, it's a telltale sign that you need to fuel up your heart with passion, zeal and enthusiasm. For you to keep moving full steam ahead and firing on all cylinders, the name of the game is passion. That is, the passion that explodes, which extinguishes the spirit of lukewarm and makes you resilient and unstoppable.
For your passion to explode, you need to SEE YOURSELF AS A GIANT WITH GREAT POTENTIAL. While the Israelites saw Goliath as a giant that you would embitter their lives, in the case of David, it was the other way round. Because David had the passion for championships, he nominated himself for a contest which appeared to be beyond his ken. As far as he was concerned, Goliath was a piece of cake and was eager to have him for breakfast. While he was flaming with passion, to swing into the contest with Goliath, his brothers thought he needed to examine his head. In the end, David proceeded against Goliath and reduced the so called giant to defeat. What's appearing like a giant before you? Begin to see it the other way round. See the giant in you and get fired up to swing into action.
Also, if you don't allow your passion to explode, you would be lacking the zeal to STIR UP YOUR GIFT. Allowing what you are gifted for to go into sleep mode wouldn't get you into the mainstream of accomplishment. Apostle Paul saw Timothy as a youth with promising potential and encouraged him to stir up the gift of God in him. You must be willing to take responsibility for your action if you don't want your life to take a nosedive. You need to stir up your gift if you want to stay on top of your game. Nobody makes a show stopping impact by allowing one's gifting to gather dust. Henceforth, unleash your potential with zeal and passion.
It also bears mentioning that your passion won't explode if you don't STAY AWAY FROM FIRE AND PASSION EXTINGUISHERS, who throw cold waters on the goals of others. If you keep hobnobbing with people who aren't passionate about defining their life sentence and what they are out to achieve in life, they may talk or influence you out of catching the fire to pursue your dreams. If they are not on fire, they can't help you to get steaming ahead. Hence, if you don't want to lose your fire, keep fire extinguishers at bay otherwise you end up with an outright divorce with your passion. May you keep accomplishing your goals as your passion keeps exploding all the way, in Jesus name.
