"Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." - Col 4:6
Your life can impact others positively by paying attention to your words. Apostle Paul advised Timothy to be an example of the believer in word, among other virtues. It's because he knew the power of words.
With the word of your mouth, you can edify, instruct unto righteousness, counsel, correct, rebuke or destroy. A destructive word adds no value to its hearers. Does your word frequently condemn, discourage and demoralise others? If yes, you've got to watch it, so you don't wear out the people God has equipped you to mentor.
A gracious word works like medicine to the soul. It is a word seasoned with salt and brings grace to its hearers. Therefore, seek to edify and build up people around you by your words. Correct in love, wisely rebuke and instruct unto righteousness.
Remember Christ did not come to condemn the world but that the world may come to the knowledge of salvation through the word of life. If you desire to be like Christ, your word must be seasoned with grace. I pray the Holy Spirit possess your tongue and fill it with gracious words to positively impact your generation in Jesus name.
