After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. - Luke 2:46

One of the ways to get ahead of the pack is to identify what you need to prioritise and pursue all the way. Priorities are like doors that point you in the right direction to your destination. Travelling through the door of priorities helps you to find fulfilment and actualise your dreams. However, it bears mentioning that people who prepare for their priority have a LONG TERM PERSPECTIVE OF THE FUTURE THEY DESIRE. At the tender age of twelve, Jesus was spotted among the teachers of the Law, listening and asking them questions. Jesus had a clear mandate of the mission ahead of Him - He would teach, heal, preach and ultimately become the Author of Salvation. His long term perspective made Him prepare for the task ahead. His early decision paid off because He could say in the final analysis that, "It is finished" - mission accomplished!

Those who make the practice of preparing for their priorities make LEARNING A GOAL. The Lord God spoke to Joshua to keep learning on the radar, if he would have good success. Knowing full well that ignorance isn't bliss, you should therefore hunger for knowledge and bridge every knowledge gap that could keep you out of reach of opportunities. In the same vein, Jesus was fully armed with the knowledge of the Law. So it happened that when the doctors of the Law came to put Him to the test, His answers surpassed their imagination and made them to accord Him with respect.

While knowledge is vital to preparing for your priorities, LIVING OUT YOUR ASPIRATION, helps you to get off the starting block. Early and daily decisions to pursue your ambition takes you a step closer to your goal. The application of knowledge makes you wiser and builds your capability to rise against the odds to your success. Doing nothing with your knowledge takes you nowhere near your desired future. Similarly, allowing your talent to gather dust, keeps you outside of the corridor of success. Today, identify the key priorities in your life and pursue them all the way, until every mission is fulfill achieved.
