And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him (Gideon) and said to him, the Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor – Judges 6:12
Leadership is a people business that thrives on the dimensions of foresight, sound values and virtues. Impactful leaders recognize the need to act as vision-driven pathfinders who set the pace and stimulate the interest of their team towards the realization of their potential to the nth degree.
In an attempt to drive home the underlying attributes of impactful leaders, I will be shedding light on this discourse using three (3) Vs. Accordingly, leaders who make significant impact are people of:
(1) Clear and defined vision. This implies that leaders must transit from hindsight, insight and ultimately to foresight if they must set the pace and provide clear direction. Irrefutably, being a vision-driven leader makes you a result-oriented solution provider
(2) Sound value. The values demonstrated by impactful leaders include but not limited to commitment, passion, compassion, integrity, exemplary lifestyle, discretion, relationship building. Sound values make great leaders value-adders and game changers.
(3) Unmitigated valor. God recognized Gideon as a mighty man of valor and commissioned him to deliver the children of Israel from the hands of the Midianites. Valor speaks to a leader’s strength of character and potential to institute and drive change.
Valor is a vital splendor of leadership which makes it possible for impactful leaders to face challenges with courage and determination.
A leader who is patterned in alignment with the triangular dimensions of vision, value and valor will eclipse and out-perform those who do not. I pray the Lord endow you with the gift of foresight, sound value and unmitigated valor to become a leader of immense impact in Jesus name.
