LEADING WITHOUT VISION LEADS TO DIVISION

Where there is no vision, the people perish… - Prov. 29:18 The Bible unequivocally asserts that where there is no vision, the people will perish. This underscores the driving force of vision in spelling out the course of action, the direction and the goal to be achieved by any people. Also, the absence of vision, add up to a waste of time, purpose and destiny. When a leader lacks vision, his leadership will be undermined by lack of accountability, passion and direction. It is being said that somewhere is nowhere. If a leader is unable to define and draw a picture of the future his leadership is poised to achieve, his team may wind up in total disarray. Therefore, lack of vision paves the way for division to thrive. Because the individual team player on his leadership cadre will not be able to train their sights on what is what. They are bound to work at cross purposes and may have reasons to lock horns with another. Nehemiah was a wise administrator who spelt out his mission and vision for Jerusalem, the City of God. He had prayed and x-rayed the deplorable state of the gates and walls of Jerusalem. He wanted a total restoration to a dignified state of beauty. He had a clear perspective and understanding of the future he desires for Jerusalem. Therefore, he shared his vision with his team to stimulate their interest in working towards a unified goal, which will abound to the glory of God. His mission and vision for the restoration of the beauty of Jerusalem was accomplished in the long run. May you not lack the vision that will propel you to pursue the mandate of God for your life with passion, commitment and diligence in Jesus name.
