…He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” – John 5:6-7
No one can succeed in isolation. Hence, success is the offshoot of at least two great and purposeful minds rubbing shoulders with each other. When you meet someone whose mission is to make an impact that matters and you appear to be of like minds, you are bound to emerge successful than to work hand in hand with a loafer. When great minds brainstorm, they give the evidence of storming their world with innovative ideas. However, you can help someone whose performance is not up to grade to begin to achieve results that hits others between the eyes. You can become the person of impact on whose shoulders others can rise through the ranks and became an icon of impact.
In a bid to act as the pillar of support for others to migrate from weakness to strength, you need to IDENTIFY with their weakness. In John 5, when Jesus saw the paralytic man by the pool of Bethesda, He identified with his struggle for survival. When you find it disheartening to see people blow out of their pursuit and wrestle through life, you will be inspired to lend them a helping hand. While it is graceful to help others succeed, it would be vital to GET THEIR BUY IN BEFORE TAKING A GIANT STEP. Jesus asked the paralytic man whether he wanted to be made whole; his response was just beside the question. Because he never knew who Jesus was; so, he lamented about having no one to lend him a helping hand to get him into the pool of water, which was occasionally stirred for the healing of anyone who jumps in first into the pool. Hence, getting the buy in of your benefactor may help you to validate their needs and expectation while you remain poised to make an impact in their lives.
Lastly, helping others to move from their weakness to strength will require you to swing into action and do such things within your capacity that speaks to their weakness. Having understood his need to walk and move out of his stagnated position, Jesus commanded the paralytic man to take up his bed and walk. Jesus spoke the word and the paralytic man received strength to walk. Hence, you can inspire confidence in others with your words, through the treasure of your wisdom and in many other ways depending on the identified need. I pray the Lord bestow on you the wisdom, treasure and inspiration to make an impact that matters in the lives of many in Jesus name.
