...I have nobody when the water is moving to put me into the pool; but while I am trying to come [into it] myself, somebody else steps down ahead of me. - John 5:7
People that have wait-and-see attitude always take the back seat in the scheme of things. They choose to be spectators while others make spectacular moves that put them in the spotlight. They are also often fond of making eleventh hour decision about crucial issues in life. When they could have tried their wings and pursued their goals, they allow the grass to grow under their feet. If you allow your fears to discourage you from spreading their wings when you are presented with challenging task, you will lose your honour to others that are willing to step in.
Shying away from responsibilities does not earn you a golden reputation. Being responsible helps you to build your capacity to become a resourceful personality. When people begin to avoid you a like a plague, it could be that their confidence in you have been fully eroded. If you are perceived by your team members as being laid back, often needing someone to force your hand to step up to the plate, they would have reasons to avoid you like a plague. You don’t stand a good stead by being the weak link in the chain. Therefore, step up to earn your spurs.
Moses had what is takes to lead the Israelites out of Egypt by virtue of the grace of God upon his life. Because of his fears, he stalled the move of God to commission him for the assignment. Had God willing to substitute Moses, Aaron, his brother would have been a choice substitute for him, to become the agent of deliverance for the Israelites. You need to keep it in mind that God desires to see you manifest His glory. So you must give a good account of yourself and step up to the plate and rake in the big dividends that accrues to a life of dedication and commitment to His purpose for your life. May you not have reasons to be edged out of your position by virtue of your inaction or disobedience to God’s instruction in Jesus name.
