And the man (Isaac) became great, and advanced, and grew until he became very great: - Genesis 26:13
The road to fulfilment runs through the path of persistence and incurable commitment. If you don't lose sight of your goal and you keep trucking at the actualisation of your dream, you increase the odds of harvesting the gains of your pains. However, those who prefer to fiddle away their time while funneling it towards unenterprising pursuits would most likely grind their teeth while others are making history. That's why you shouldn't allow indecision or discouragement to put a strain on your zeal to keep plugging away. Although it would certainly take some doing to reach for the stars, at the same time, you stand a good stead if you don't allow bad company, idleness, distraction or discouragement to drain and deflate your drive towards living a life of success.
For you to keep on keeping on, that is, making headway against all odds, it's important to note that you need to be on the right track. That's why it's important to GET OFF TO A GOOD START otherwise you may have to go back to the drawing board and get it right. Building on a faulty foundation makes you run the risk of collapse somewhere in the middle of the road. The big questions are: Do you have the right study pack? Are you in the right relationship? Is your career path a thorn in your flesh? Are you on course for God? Just to mention few. Know that any pursuit that breaks with God's plan and purpose for your life could get you in a bind and cause your life to keep going downhill. However, if you are already off to a good start, you need to GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME. You need to focus on the ultimate goal. Jesus saw the big picture and therefore despised the torture meted out to Him for the sins He didn't commit. He painstakingly took the fall and keep His eyes on the ball. If He had done otherwise, His mission as the ultimate Messiah would have been aborted.
Finally, while it is important to make headway in life, you shouldn't allow your accomplishments to GET TO YOUR HEAD. You would certainly get yourself out of God's good graces if you fail to credit Him with your advancement. You also run the risk of losing the steam you need to remain at the top of the line. It's being said that yesterday's success can upset the accomplishment of today. Therefore, the in thing to do when you are pulled towards resting on your laurels is to get over your accomplishments and raise the bar in pursuit of higher altitudes. May you not fall by the way side when it's time for you to be in the spotlight in Jesus name.
