"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things." - Phil 4:8
If there is any direction that's worth going, it is the way forward. Your ability to gravitate towards the future you desire gets you ahead of the park. While some allow their past to impair their visibility into the journey ahead, forward thinkers DISPENSE WITH LIVING IN THE PAST especially if it will get in the way of their progress towards the actualisation of their goals. The Lord God wants His children to get over their past when He said "Remember not the former things...I will do a thing". If your past isn't worth leveraging to help you advance to the next level, it's preferable to sidestep it, so you could think and work towards getting ahead.
A forward thinker is upbeat about the future. He has no misgiving about his competencies, potential and prospects of living out his dreams. Regardless of how gloomy the future may appear to be, a forward thinker remains OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE FUTURE. One of the reasons why some people give up easily in life is because they often think that the glass is half empty. They allow their doubts to get the best of them. Pessimistic thinking isn't a driving force towards accomplishing greatness. The account of Joshua and Caleb is a perfect illustration of two major forward thinkers, who distinguished themselves among the elders of Israel. They believed Israel could move forward in spite of the obstacles they needed to square up to, because they factored God into the equation. Hence, be optimistic and begin to pull out all the stops that may hinder you from thinking ahead and seeing the big picture.
Another significant attributes of forward thinkers is their COMMITMENT TO BE PERSISTENT. They keep thinking, planning and working tirelessly towards reaching their goals. Some people stop short of advancing in life because they think they have arrived and couldn't see the way ahead. Hence, they rest on their laurels. However, forward thinkers keep plodding away and advancing towards maximizing their potential. Regardless of where you are on the curve, it pays to think forward and strive towards maximizing your potential. Don't be stuck in a rut nor be stagnated by limitations. See beyond the present and press forward towards the future God has prepared for you. May you achieve goals that would outlive you and impact lives in Jesus name.
